Alma-nac won part of a research grant to explore the potential for diversifying the economy in Bromley -By-Bow by building on the existing time-bank and encouraging peer to peer exchange of skills and services. Working with local organisations, Alma-nac met with local residents to understand the success of the time-bank and existing peer to peer networks. It became clear that Bromley-by-Bow was time-rich and relatively skill-rich but that there was a lack of connectivity and lack of knowledge about the resources available. The proposal was to increase connectivity and awareness rather than introduce a new system or organisation. The research culminated in a series of public events to improve connectivity and an exhibition detailing the findings and conclusions
