The conversion of this existing office block into 25 micro-apartments has provided the opportunity to explore the premise of generous spatial living within the confines of the London Design Guidelines size requirements.
Through the use of bespoke joinery and split levels, studio apartments overlap two primary programs - sleeping and living, whilst keeping them visually separate. Taking advantage of the tall ceilings in this way, effective room areas appear to double to the inhabitant.
Through the provision of generous communal amenity spaces, periodic spaces can be shared, minimising impact on the scheme size as a whole whist ensuring the inhabitants can have the space for a morning yoga workout, midday toddler group or evening dinner party as required.
